morning everyone!
This weekend was great! learned a lot in the past few days.
On Saturday we went on exchanges with the Shelley Elders. I went with Elder Tavete, from Samoa. He's still pretty new to the mission, but is the man at talking to people! We went tracting in the morning, and we were let in by this indian family! They were HARD OUT catholic though! In every room of their house there was a bible and a crucifix somewhere, and yeah, they were super nice, and I knew that we could have easily picked their whole family up as new investigators if we would have just had a lesson about Christ and his life, but I thought it would be better to not only share the life of Christ with them, but the Restoration of the Gospel, so we shared it with them, and the Spirit was super strong as we shared the First vision, but they wanted to keep the Catholic tradition going in their family, because they were like 15th generation catholics or something like that . Haha but it was a big testimony builder to me of why it is important to teach the Restoration before anything else, because it is the make or break lesson! Right after that appointment we saw another one of our investigators, D, from Nigeria. He too had concerns about the Book of Mormon, and the Apostasy, and we resolved them, but he wasn't genuinely looking for the truth. then we retaught J the Restoration, and the Spirit was so strong, and it made me realize how important it is to have an open heart and mind so that the Spirit can testify of the truth.
Yesterday was a great day at church! I know I say this a lot, but I literally feel like Thornlie ward is more my home ward, than my homeward at home! Everyone knows me by name, and I feel so loved and welcome here, I just love it here! I'm so grateful to have been given the opportunity to come back here!
Something I have been studying this past week is the Savior's words in the New Testament. I never have realized how much love was behind everything he said until I have read them again this past week. I have been able to come to know him a lot more this weekend through reading his actual words. It has helped me remember him heaps more, and has changed the way I look at things. I want to be more patient, loving, and hopeful, because that's how he is.
Love you all!
Love Elder Beeson
