G'day Friends and Family! What a loooooooooong week! it was good, but super duper busy!
On Monday after our pday we took a recently returned mini missionary, A ( who is actually older than both Elder Tua'itanu and I) to see a referral we received down in Harrisdale. So we went there and met D who is Sri Lanken. he's in his 30's and speaks good English. Apparently his brother who is living in Texas referred him because his brother just got baptized! So we asked him heaps of questions to see where he is at with everything, and we found that he wants to start on a clean slate so we taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, and then we had A extend the Baptismal invitation and he said yes!! wooooo! he will be baptized next month :)
We had transfers this week, it was pretty nuts getting things all sussed, but it all worked out great :)
We also had HEAPS of stake meetings this week. They were all good meetings, but I'm kind of sick of meetings to be honest! haha.
We saw A on Thursday night, and we went in NOT having the mindset of figuring out what we had to do to get him baptized. So we just asked him some questions about things that we feel we have overlooked ( his brother passed away a few months back) so we asked him about that, and to be honest, normally I feel really uncomfortable and am not sure what to do whenever something sad happens, but I just trusted that something would come to mind if I just listened. So we were just listening and then all of the sudden as soon as I opened my mouth, I knew EXACTLY what to say, and everything became really clear. I felt the spirit strong during that lesson, especially as I opened my mouth. I honestly think that one of the best ways to prove the existence of our loving heavenly father is to trust in him to give you what you need to say when you have no idea what to say, and not only that, but the feeling you get when you do it. It's hard to describe, but it brings peace to me.
On Friday we had lunch with our district leader at our flat, and then when we went back out to the car, the car was robbed!! haha they only took Elder Given & Taupau's stuff, none of mine or Elder Tua'itanu's stuff. The other Elders were sooooo mad. haha Honestly there are soooo many robberies where we live. it is the HOOD here in Gozzies! ;) hahaha.
We had heaps of random days this week. Saturday was crazy as well. The sisters called us a quarter to 5 because they needed us to unlock the chapel for a baptism of a child of record. that started at 5!! So we got there and the font wasn't filled or anything, and it was already 5pm, and we didn't have the key to the font to fill it up, so elder Tua'itanu helped me jump over the glass of the font to start filling it up! hahahaa the space between the ceiling and the top of the glass was pretty thin, it was pretty funny but crazy. It was a good baptism, but it started like 40 minutes late.
Elder Tua'itanu and I also didn't have to play organ this week in sacrament meeting ( we tag team it ;) ) but we still had to play for primary. I love helping out in primary! hah the kids are so funny! After church we had a cottage evening and played some reverse charades at the H's. We did an object lesson in the which we needed a paperclip, and we could not find any anywhere, so we went paper clip tracting! ;) we got one and had a good conversation with the H's next door neighbour :)
One thing I learned this week was that at the end of the day, no matter our callings, how strong or weak we are, how fat or skinny or what ever, heavenly father loves his children unconditionally. BUT sometimes we can only feel that love if we do things that align ourselves with him.
I love you family! ctr!!
Love Elder Beeson
ps feel free to send me peachie o's and socks ;)
