G'day family and friends,
What a weekend!! Lots of amazing things happened, let me share :)
So on Thursday, we taught L very quickly, we went over the baptismal interview questions, and she's all good :) She passed her interview yesterday, so she is all good for this weekend!! :)
Friday- was a bit crazy, it was good though, we went to E's house, and a senior couple were going to come with us there, because they Spanish speakers, and have been on 7 missions, so they know how to deal with the bible bashing investigators ;) Anywho, they couldn't come, so we went anyways, and as usual it was kind of a bash, but then I had kind of a prompting to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and so we just started teaching that, and the Spirit finally came. It was really cool. He agreed with everything we said once we taught that. Then we weekly planned for a bit, then we had a lesson at the B's! D and K came to fellowship. A was finally home again, and he told us of all the studying he has been doing since he's been gone. So he read through all the pamphlets, he read 1st and 2nd Nephi, and the book of moroni, and all the chapter headings inbetween, and now he has been reading the Doctrine and Covenants, and he is up to section 41! FAR OUT! And plus he's been listening to Motab! haha he told us that on the plane ride home that he was reading the Book of Mormon, and the guy next to him told him it wasn't true, but then he defended the BOM, and the guy stopped talking to him! haha nice! So needless to say, he accepted the invitation to be baptized!! woooooooooooo!!!! it is finally official :) The entire family will be baptized next month!!!
Saturday was fun! We were on exchanges, I was with Elder Taupau from Melbourne. He's crack up. We helped a less active move for a few hours in the morning. Then we dropped off a birthday gift for D, then Elder Taupau and I bike through the rain, it was soooo fun! (I miss my bike so bad :( ) Then we had a few good contacts, but then Elder Taupau ripped his pants hard core!! hahaha so we had to go back to the flat and get him some. Then we visited a few less actives, and the lessons went really well. We saw the S's after we re-exchanged, and yeah, they are beginning to make some awesome progress!
Sunday was nutttttttttttts!!! We had 8 of our investigators come to church, and 13 of the less actives we are working with! haha it was a bit stressful, because no one was playing prelude like 5 minutes before the meeting started, so I was going to play, but then one of the sisters played, and then the B came, so we had to sit by them, and then on top of that, I was asked like an hour before church to give a talk, and so yeah it was a bit nuts. All of the 8 stayed all 3 hours as well. All of them LOVED church. They all said they'll be there this next week :) It was pretty cool, because one of them that came, wasn't actually too keen on coming, but he came and stayed all three hours, and now he is KEEN! We dropped off their son's waterbottle that they left at church, and they both looked just so happy. It was really cool to see how they are already looking so much different than they did when we first met them. They are changing!!! We also had a dinner at the F's house.. haha it was a total set up, because we invited them to invite their friends over for a dinner, and then we 'just so happened to show up' and taught a lesson. It was one of the kids' school teachers. It went pretty well, and we had an awesome roast lamb dinner :)
Things are a bit crazy, but its awesome!!!! I loooooooove love love this area. I never want to leave it. It honestly feels like home!
this weekend I learned how important it is to always be prepared to share your testimony. It takes effort to share a powerful testimony, it takes honesty, and telling why you know what you know.
Love you all family and friends!!
Love Elder Beeson
ps feel free to send letters or packages with peachie--o's.. haha.. ;) but really.
