Family and friends,
This week has been one I wont forget! many interesting/weird/fun experiences.
here we go!
Monday-
we went to L&L's house for a bbq for pday. After that we went to the shops and
then tried visiting people, but no one was home!!! lame. We didn't get
to teach any lessons ;( that was the night.
Tuesday-We
thought we were going to transfer Elder mamea Tuesday night, but we
ended up transferring him on Wednesday morning! We did heaps of goodbye
visits! we probably biked 30ish k's!! he wanted to see families from all
over the ward! but hey, we taught 7 lessons :) It was a really fun day.
I gave M, the girl who lives at the k's a blessing right after
we shared a thought there. They fed us heaps, then we had ward council,
then I got a few letters from home!! :) then that was basically the
day!
Wednesday-crazy
long day. We dropped off elder mamea at queens park. It wasn't hard
saying goodbye to him at all, haha he makes me laugh. Then we went to
the mission office, and met up with all the other trainers. I played
piano for the meeting we had. Then we had a trainers training session.
After that I was paired up with Elder Preston for the day! He's the
man!!! he is serving up in Karratha right now. side story, so he was one
of the trainers who was there when we found out who are trainers were
when I first came, and apparently he was supposed to train me up in
Karratha because he literally had a plane ticket with my name on it!!
what the heck!!! oh well, I know I'm meant to be here :)
anyways, we
were in the zone leader's area in ballajurra the whole day. Every person
we talked to was sooo keen!! we got like 3 return appointments!! what
the heck?! I swear my area is the hardest! haha. We'll make it work
better here though! :)
Elder Preston used to be a zone leader in the
area we were at, so we visited a few former investigators and such. On
our way to one of their houses, we were talking to this really odd
lady who was talking about how the catholic church is going to start
baptizing aliens haha. far out. But then while we were in the middle of
talking to her, she just turned to me and asked how my sister was
doing... I turned to elder preston, and he was as confused as I was. I
had this super weird feeling come over me. I'm pretty sure it was
the holy ghost telling me to leave. so we did!
I hope Eliza and Claire
are doing well!!
any who, then we went to this guy's house and he was
one of those people who has an insane memory. He gave us a calendar of
last year and he told us to name a date on there and he would tell us
what day of the week it was. he was right every time!! we had a really
good lesson with him! After that we went to a recent converts house. He
used to be a muslim. His house mates don't know he's a member
of the church. Then we went to his malysian guy's house named K. we
read Mosiah 21 with him, then he gave us some super authentic chinese
food! it was really good actually! kind of looked scary to eat, but it
was fun! Then the zone leaders picked us up and that was the night.
Thursday-Long
day as well! We had to be at the chapel by 8. We played some basketball
in a park for our morning work out. then we went to the chapel, then we
met our trainees!! I saw Elder Jensen there haha! lucky guy, he's being
trained by elder cordner in Kalgoolrie!! way out in the bush. My
companion is Elder Macki!! He is fron Colby, Kansas, and he is 21. He
looks 18 though.
I love him already because has the strongest desire to serve. I've already
learned heaps from him. After we had training. I played piano for that.
Then we had lunch. then the trainees had to go get their working with
children cards.
Then I was talking to Elder Cordner for a long time.
He's a good guy. We continued our meeting, then we got his bags
and left for our area. The only little problem is that there were
some sisters that drove up from Bunbury and took some bags with them and they took one of elder Macki's bags. hahaha So he still doesn't have it.
Hopefully we'll get it soon!
Then we got to our area, then Sister
C dropped us off some dinner, then we ate, then we went to
bishop's house, but he wasn't home. Then we went to J's house, but
he wasn't home either, then we went to the N's, and we had a
lesson with them. Then that was pretty much the night. Poor Elder Macki,
he was feeling pretty sick, so I gave him my bedding and let him sleep.
Friday-We
had district meeting. We have 2 more sisters in our district now! so
there's 8 of us in the district now. It was good! we played that one
matthew mark luke john 1 2 3 4 game where you call the other persons
name or number while clapping and snapping. hahah it was fun. Then we
had a good spiritual discussion.
After that we went to the flat and
weekly planned. I was getting so sick of sitting there, so we bagged
weekly planning for a bit and went to work! We went to D's
house again. it was the first time I have seen him since the first full
day I was out in the field in July!! He is still super keen to be
baptized!! We had a really good lesson about the plan of salvation with
him. He committed to read the bom, pray, ask his mom about baptism
again, and come to a session of general conference!! It was
all elder Macki ;) Then we tried to see a few less actives, they weren't
home.
Then we went to set up an appointment with these potentials we
met on the street the other day! the lady was home and we set an
appointment! She's super keen to have us over, she was thinking of
having us over on her birthday! Far out!! then after that we went to a
former's house. His name is R. He IS BOB WILEY. from what
about bob!He has a bit of schizophrenia. One of the first things he said to us when we showed up is that he
wants to be baptized!! far out!! Then he let us teach him the
restoration right there, and he committed to be baptized on Nov. 6th!!
Nice!! I'm telling you though, it's all Elder Macki ;) Then we tried
another potential, then we went back to the flat for the night to finish
weekly planning, to do 12 week and eat dinner, good day though :)
Saturday-General
conference!!!!!!!!!!!! so good!! I loved that one southern lady's talk!
After the first session, we went to go teach A&S. We went
there and apparently andy just barely moved!! What the heck?! He's now
building silos in the bush!! gahh! but Sani was there and we had a good
lesson with him about how he needs to be a good influence for his kids.
After that the zl's picked us up and we saw the second session! I
lovvvvvvved it!! After that, we were dropped off at the m's for
dinner. we had some super good fish n' chips. We had a quick lesson on
prayer, then they drove us back to the church for priesthood session. I
loved elder uchtdorf's talk :) then after that we went home for 12
week! That was the day.
Sunday-
We met with bishop for an mcm meeting at 9 right before conference.
After that we watched conference. Then after the first session, we went
to our flat for companionship study and lunch. Then Br. P came
to pick us up to pick up R! He came in this sweet
Hawaiian shirt. I just feel like I'm on a movie when I'm around him.
He's so funny. Then we watched conference. I think Robert fell
asleep through some of it, but then again so did a lot of the
missionaries.. sad!!! Then we went to our flat to make a reading
schedule for P, then we went to brother R's house to text
the zone leaders on his phone because we left our phone in the zone
leader's car.
We shared a message while we were there about
trusting in God. It was cool because Sister R's sister's boyfriend
was there and apparently he is an investigator down in Armadale! Then
we went to bishop's house and shared a quick thought. Then we biked all
the way to P's house. No one was home. haha I guess that's what
you get when you forget your phone! Then we biked home to do some 12
week and have dinner and correlate. then the zone leaders came and gave
us our phone! then that was the night.
This
week was madness. It was fun though. I love the mission life, you just
never know what kind of people you'll meet hahaha!! I love you my
friends and family, keep being Saints, latter day saints that is ;)
yours truly,
elder Beeson
