Dear family and friends,
It is honestly so hard to remember all the things that happen as soon as I get to the computer to email. haha I'll try my best ;)
On Tuesday we tracted in the morning, and the second door we knocked on answered the door. His door was already opened actually, but his screen door was closed. He came to the door, and he said he wasn't interested, but we kept asking him questions and kept talking to him. He eventually opened the door and was talking to us face to face, and then he came outside completely and we talked to him, and then he invited us in. He gave us a glass of water and we had an AWESOME spiritual talk with him. His name is L and he is from South Africa (he's white) anywho, his concerns were really sincere. He told us that he wants to do the right thing, but everytime he went to a church, they asked him for all of his money. So he was really shut down from that. But then we taught a mixture of a few lessons. It was mostly on the nature of God and about prayer. We also invited him to be baptized, and he said he wasn't sure. We resolved his concern, but he still wasn't sure. We will follow up this week with him :)
On Wednesday we had another mission conference. Elder Nelson from the 70 came. I learned some really simple lessons from him. I think the biggest thing I got from it was we should follow the spirit and not care about any body else's experiences. If we come to recognize the spirit's voice, we need to follow it, and not worry about what people say.
On Thursday we had MLC with Elder Nelson. Pretty intense. The spirit was really strong though. He just hammered into us that we have to be preach my gospel missionaries in order for the work to succeed.
On Saturday I went on an exchange with Elder Esterninos from the Phillipines. He is so humble. His desire to help others is so pure. I learned a lot from him. We were able to see some cool little miracles that day. It was nice because we finally got to be on the bikes the entire day, because I got a new bike because mine got stolen from off our balcony, but I have a new/ used one now, but anyways, we went to Z's house, and we had an awesome lesson on Alma 18, on obedience. Z's girlfriend's dad joined in, and read with us. He cut us off while we were talking, and he was saying how cool ammon was because he wasn't killed when someone lifted up their sword to slay him. After the lesson Z told us that his girlfriend's dad has been reading the Book of Mormon out of curiosity lately because we have been coming over. G ( the girlfriends dad) then asked us as we were leaving how Christ came to the America's. I said "probably through the same power he was resurrected." I think it answered his question ;) Then we went to this excommunicated lady's house and talked to her partner. He isn't too keen on missionaires "preaching" to him, so we had a good conversation instead ;) he opened up heaps though! he told us of all these spiritual experiences he has had, and we invited him to have more by praying! Then we had an awesome member visit at the H's. Brother H told us he felt like our visit was meant to be, because he said that he felt like his family was living the gospel quite complacently. So that was awesome. Elder Esterninos bore powerful simple testimony wherever we went. He was such an example to me that day.
Yesterday, ANZAC day was pretty cool. We went to a dawn service at like 5:30. it was a lot like the memorial service we have, but it was just super early in the morning. We followed up with one of our investiagors, Hosea, and had a good conversation. Lately with him he is pretty shut down when we try to bear our testimonies, so we applied the gospel to his life so he felt comfortable, and so he felt he needed it. Then we followed up with this Aboriginal dude that we were referred to from a lady off the street. His name was E. We met him a few weeks ago, and he was suuuuper drunk, but then when we went back, he said that he didn't remember us at all! haha But he said that he wanted us to come back to teach his family, so that's a treat! :) Then my front tire on my bike went hard core flat, so we walked in to a few member's houses, no one ended up having a pump, so we had brother L pick us up at the end of the day. We went and saw the W's' right before he picked us up, and it's awesome to see the progress they are making. They are a family the stake has been working on for ages because they haven't been through the temple yet, and they are all active. They told us of all the things they are giving up so they can go to the temple as a family this june! it built my testimony of the atonement of jesus Christ.
This week I feel I have grown a lot. Over time on my mission I've been able to see things as they really are. My perspective has changed a lot on myself, the work, and especially Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I feel my perspective has changed so much just because I am constantly thinking of them. I never have thought about Them and my eternal potential so much in my life than I have now. It helps me to make wise decisions. It helps me feel the spirit. The gospel has so much power in application than people give it credit for. I know the church is true. I know I'm a son of God.
I love you family,
love Elder beeson

This weekend was awesome my dear family and friends. There were some pretty spiritual experiences this weekend.
On
Thursday night we had stake Correlation with President Fife, and the
Stake president, President Brodie. President Brodie asked us to role
play for him how our typical member power visits are, so I started role
playing, and then he cut me off and gave me HEAPS of stuff I was doing
wrong! hahaha then elder Matautia tried and he got cut off too. Anywho,
by the end of it we got some AWESOME tips for how to ask for referrals!
We Also taught N the entire plan of salvation that night as well.
She seemed to understand it pretty well and the spirit was pretty
strong. After that we felt impressed to go to this active member's home,
and then when we got there the less active son who we haven't seen in
ages was there and we were able to give him a good pep talk. It was
pretty cool.
We
had another lesson with N on Friday night at the H's.
Brother H is from fresno. it was nice to talk to an American!
haha the dinner was suuuuper American an good and stuff. Then we asked
for referrals from K and N the way that President Brodie asked us
to start trying to do, and they both had some people. it was cool though
because while we took a moment of silence to ponder, I had the name
"michelle" pop into my head. I could not think of any michelles I knew.
then after the silent minute, kim said that she had the name "michelle"
come to mind, and that she didn't even know a michelle. Then Elder
Matautia realized that we got a referral from a member the other day and
her name was michelle! That was pretty cool!
On
Saturday we did quite a bit of service. We sawed some tropical plants
off of this huge bush and planted them all over the place. then we
weeded at M's because she has seemed pretty stressed lately. then
later that night we had a lesson at the Main's house with M and the
girls. We did the referral thing and J said that the name 'jeff'
popped into her head and jeff is a dude who we met the other week who we
have been neglecting to call lately! So we will be following up with
him. then M asked us to go visit her Indonesian friend. So on sunday
night we "tracted" into her friend J, and we had a short chat, then
J said that we could come back as soon as school holiday was over to
teach her and the fam! What a treat!! then we had an awesome cottage
evening at the R's and got to play games and had a lesson and food
and stuff it was pretty cool and stuff.
But
yeah, haha sorry kind of in a rush today, but this week was great! I
learned more about how heavenly father communicates with us on a daily
basis!
I love you all,
love elder Beeson
Dear
Family and Friends, and other acquaintances, this week and a half was a
blurrrr! I'll share with you what I DO remember from the crazy week.
On
Wednesday, we went on exchanges with the Balcatta Elders, I was will
Elder Collings, from the UK. We had some pretty good success in finding
in the morning. Lots of people were really receptive, it was pretty
cool. Got a few return appointments and things. Then later in the day we
went to this Less Active's house who hasn't been to church in ages. He
is like a 60 year old rockstar! hahaha he is the coolest. He showed us
his home made recording studio, then we shared a simple spiritual
thought with him. After that I felt prompted that we needed to go to a
Potential family's house, so we went there, and as soon as we knocked on
the door, the guy we usually talk to rushed out the door to go
meet a friend, but then his mom invited us in and she gave us cake and
water :) There were heaps of people that just kept coming and going, it
was pretty random. There was a lot of awkward small talk, but then we
got into a pretty cool discussion, we ended up sharing the book of
Mormon with them. the Mom's friend was over as well, and she was kind
of trashing the church, then as soon as I pulled out the Book of Mormon,
she just left. But then we shared it, and the spirit was soooooo
strong, it was just the most peaceful feeling in the room. We shared a
scripture out of 3 Nephi 18, and they really liked it. So basically it
was a good thing that the mom's friend left because it may not have
been as spiritual ;) But yeah, there is HEAPS of potential in that
family. They are German.
On
Thursday we had another lesson with . It was cool, when we were
following up at the beginning of the visit, we just asked her how she
was feeling about her baptism, and she said that she was feeling really
good about it. We asked her if she had prayed about it, and she said
that she had, and she knew she HAD to be baptized!! That was
aweeeesome!! super cool. haha it made the lesson go really smooth, just
because she usually is the hardest person ever to read, but because we
knew her desires, it made it soo much easier.
Conference
of course was AMAZING. My favourite talk was Elder Renlunds. His hit me
hardest. Later sunday afternoon, we were tracting, and weren't finding
much success, but then we felt like we should go and see this former
investigator name H, and then when we walked up H wasn't
there, but he had his nephew there house sitting. We could have easily
just brushed him off because we had other places to go, but we decided
to stay and talk to him for a while. We ended up talking about the book
of Mormon, and it was awesome! He said he wanted us to come back before
H came back the next week to teach him more. He even texted us
like 15 minutes later and told us that he had already read 3 Nephi 11,
and was wondering if there was another good chapter that he could read!!
that was neat!! Then we saw a few more less active families. One of
them is the G's, we have been trying to get in for like a month,
and then they finally let us in. We had a good talk with them, and a
really powerful lesson on how we need to recognize promptings of the
spirit. It was cool.
Yesterday
was a really good hard working day as well. We literally just walked
the entire day and talked with absolutely every person we could see. We
followed up with someone Elder Collings and I found and she's pretty
keen! We had some really good conversations and quite a few people said
we could come back!
I
guess the biggest thing I learned this week is that without the Spirit,
we are NOTHING! completely useless. I know that without having those
promptings that we wouldn't have been able to help the people we were
supposed to. I've learned that it is far more worth it to make decisions
that help you have the spirit throughout the day, rather than to
disobey "for fun." The spirit also comes strongly when you are working
diligently. I love it!
Well
family and friends, I hope you are all doing well. Thank you for your
emails each week. They mean so much to me. A lot of the time I don't
have time to email you all back, but know that I read all of them, and
love all of you :)
love elder Beeson

Dear Family and friends,
This week was pretty awesome! We've been doing heaps of finding in the
richest suburb in our area: Mindare. We have been tracting mansions, and
actually have been having some success doing it too!
On
Wednesday I was on exchanges with Elder Birch. We prayed about where we
needed to be in the morning and we both felt strongly that we needed to
be on this one street. So we walked near the area, and knocked on a few
doors, no one was too keen, but then we got on the actual street that
we felt like we needed to be on, and we me this Englishman named E.
We were talking for a bit, and then he tried to end the conversation,
but then we asked him a few more questions, and he just said that we
could not answer any of his questions, and then we asked him what his
questions were, and he got right up in our faces and was almost yelling
about how much his misses his wife that passed away a few years ago. He
told us about how much he loved her and misses her now. He showed us in
his pocket a picture of her, and said that he always keeps her on his
heart. We told him that our purpose wasn't to tell him what to believe,
but to help him recognize answers to prayers he has been putting up for
years. He was surprised by that, but then he closed himself off. But we
did teach him how to recognize answers to prayers, which I think was the
sole reason of us being on the street to meet him.
On
Thursday we were tracting and found K. She literally just sits at
home all day because she is pregnant and rich. So we started teaching
her the plan of salvation, and she loved it! so we will be following up
with her tomorrow, she's suuper keen!
Saturday
was madness in the morning. There was a big easter celebration at the
chapel and that went until 11 the baptism was at 12, and the chapel was a
wreck!!! Luckily D's mom posted on facebook that it was actually
at 12:30 by accident. We barely got everything to go smoothly and it was
all good. it was a suuuuuper smooth service. The spirit was there. It
has been cool to see success happening in this area and in the mission. I
think this week was a record breaking week of baptisms throughout the
mission. We had the most in one weekend since 2007! things are happening
here.
Easter
Sunday was awesome! The confirmations were great. Right before church
though we visited a referral. It was this couple who have been addicted
to all kinds of drugs, and they looked soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
so so so sad. they literally had their heads hung down, and it was funny
because that morning I read a scripture in 2 Nephi 10 that said we have
no reason to hang our heads low because of Christ! So I shared that
with them, and I could just see in their eyes how much they yearned to
be truly happy. They couldn't come to church because they had to pick up
a medication in a suburb that is like an hour away. and they can't
function without it.
Yesterday
was awesome! we did heaps of finding. we knocked on a few 4 story
houses and talked to some really rich people. They weren't too keen. but
then we followed up with a potential, and the potential's husband ended
up coming out and we talked to him for like an hour. He believes in
aliens and stuff haha. But he looked a lot like my grandpa Don, so I was
just being as bold as I could with him because He reminded me of my
gramps! haha It ended well, but nothing set on us coming back. Then we
visited this less active who has the voice of Elder Uchtdorf. it was
cool. He was a very spiritual man. Later that night we went to M and K's house to teach. N told us she had an overwhelming
spiritual experience that day with prayer! Miracle!!!!!! that was
suuuper cool
elder
matautia and I will be staying together another transfer here in
Merriwa! I wouldn't have it any other way! I can feel we will find
someone soon who just needs us. We pray for it everyday.
I
love Easter, and the saviour. I have come to realize this easter season
how much in debt we truly are to him. I love the Lord.
Love, elder beeson
Family and friends,
This week was kind of a blur, but there were a few awesome miracles, but also quite a bit of opposition.
We
have been continually tracting the really rich suburb. There wasn't
anything that really came from it though. We have good conversations
with people, but then as soon as we are about to hit the pinnacle point
of the gospel with connecting their needs or likes with the gospel, they
just close themselves off!! Super duper annoying! Anywho, On Wednesday
we went to the Balcatta Elders' area to find with them for a bit,
because they have been struggling! I was with Elder Collings and it was
cool only the second door we knocked on we got a return appointment with
this lady. Then we went down the street and we met this 87 year old
Scottish dude who said we can come back anytime. Then we met his Italian
dude and he said he wanted a copy of the Book of Mormon in Italian, so
not bad!
On
Friday we had MLC, it was super good! President Fife was instilling in
us having Faith to succeed. After that we went to M's and we taught
N, K's friend. We had a less active returned missionary be our
member present, along with another returning member who is planning to
serve a mission soon. We had an AWESOME lesson. We focused it all on the
experience she had when she prayed for the first time on Monday.
The
spirit was suuuuuper strong. With the spirit there, we felt it right to
invite her again to be baptized ( we invited her 2 weeks ago I think)
and she accepted!! :) the date is for April 30th, and She's soooooooooo
keen! haha The only bummer is that she will have to be baptized in
Butler ward, and not Merriwa ward, because she lives in Alkimos which is
B's ward boundries. but it's all good, I think we will still teach
her, and then we will bring some Butler YSA to fellowship at the
lessons, so that will be good!
Saturday
was a pretty crazy day. We had district meeting and ZLC, sooooooo many
meetings. We also got permission to help out with this Phillipino
wedding that happened at the chapel. haha it was weird to be around a
live band. there were heaps of non members there though, we got to talk
to a lot of people. It was actually a pretty good finding tool. We also
set up a table for people to take some pamphlets and Book of Mormons and
stuff. Then that night we got a text from this less active family we
have been working with for months, who haven't been to church in YEARS.
They said something along the lines of, "Hey Elders we just wanted to
thank you for the lesson you shared last sunday on the atonement. It
really hit all of us, and we have decided that will be coming back to
church now because we have been able to see that we have been putting
our priorites on less important things. See you tomorrow!" What a
miracle!!!!!! that was wayyyyyy cool.
In
the morning yesterday we had an appointment with these less actives.
They were really cool and nice to us and everything, then the time came
around to share a message, and we shared just a really simple scripture
about Christ, and then the wife just got so defensive and started saying
how she believed in Christ, but not in the church. The husband wasn't
as aggressive, but the wife was pretty into it. It was sad to see,
because the husband is a RM and they are just the coolest couple. they
kept saying that they are happy that they left the church. Man, my heart
hurt for them.
After
Church we went and saw this other less active we have been working
with, we thought he was coming along pretty well, but then out of
nowhere while we were talking to him, he just started to roll a
cigarette! dang it!!! We will not give up on him though! Then we went to
another Less active's house, on our way walking there we contacted this
guy who was on a walk with his dog holding a beer. He was pretty drunk.
haha. he was swearing up a storm though, and was pretty stinking rude.
But we laughed at him because he kept asking us, "Who told you to go
around and be all Hallejah?" hahah weird fella.
This
week was good though. I learn heaps every week. This week I learned
that having a bigger perspective on things is important, and that it's
important to have patience with that bigger perspective, or else you
will be miserable! But I'm not miserable, I'm sooooooooo happy actually.
I love the work. I love the drunk aussies haha I love the Lord and my
companion, and I love you all,
love, Elder Beeson
