Dear Family and Friends,

 I learned sooooooooooooooooooooo much this week. It was a really spiritual week. Some cool stuff happened too. Let me share!

On Wednesday we were on exchanges with the Joondalup Elders. I went with Elder Baca, Elder Matautia went with Elder Esterninos. President told Elder matautia and I that the biggest struggle we are having is finding as a zone, specifically faith to find. So He invited us to do quite a bit of finding when we go on exchanges. So Elder Baca and I went finding right off the bat in the morning. We found a few potentials, but overall it was pretty quiet. There was this one dude named R who was a champ though! We knocked on his door, and he said that we couldn't do anything for him, but then he just kept talking to us. He told us that he used to play for the senior table tennis competitions. Anywho, he took us out to his garage and showed us his table and the robot he practices with. It was cool! He made it look so easy! so I asked if I could try, and I did, but it destroyed me! haha I probably only returned half of them. But we kept looking, and we didn't find anyone too solid before lunch, but I had the assurance before we left the flat from my prayers that we would find someone. So after lunch we kept talking to people, and we were walking around visiting less actives, and potentials. We went to this one less active's house and he wasn't home. He lives with his Girlfriend's family, and so his girlfriends' sister answered the door, and she said Zaan wasn't home, but she was keen to talk. So we ended up asking her a lot of questions and teaching her about the Godhead! She was keen to learn more! She was the one for the day we were meant to teach and talk to, especially elder Baca because he had his conversion story that totally related with her situation. it was awesome! 

On Thursday we had a lesson with M and K and the girls and also N, K's best friend. We weren't expecting N to come, but she just showed up last minute, so we went ahead with the lesson we prepared but we were able to still address it to her needs as well. We taught them how to have a family home evening, and we acted out Alma 47 for it! haha it was funny. But it was still good for Novia. Apparently she had a family member pass away this week and it has been really tough on her. So we are going to take advantage of the opportunity and teach the plan of salvation the next time we see her! It will be so good I can't wait! 

On Friday we went on exchanges with the AP's. I went with Elder Daniel, and since my bike was having problems, we decided that we would walk it all day. We contacted in down town perth for like 4 hours. I saw a less active there from my first area that was cool . But it was cool because I had the same kind of attitude for the day as I did with elder baca where I didn't want to come back to the flat until we found someone! So we were just walking and then this homeless dude approached us and asked if we were Mormons, and we said we were, then he swore and said! "I want to be a Mormon!" haha Then he asked if we could go and teach him right then, so we did! we just happened to be accrossed the street from a park so we went there and taught him and his other friend. They were agreeing with everything. They have just had the toughest lives ever!! his friend who we taught has been on the streets since he was 10! But yeah we taught the restoration, and they said that they were always at the park we met them at, so Elder Daniel said he'd go back there with Elder Tutton haha that'll be interesting but it was still a cool experience nonetheless. Then we went to a baptism that night and I had to play a musical item last minute haha, it worked out though. 

Yesterday we had an awesome gospel principles class. We had to teach because our ward mission leader moved to Canberra. It was probably the most spiritual lesson I've ever had in gospel principles by far. It was because we made up this mean parable in companionship study of the atonement. I would explain it if I had time, but it's too long. We were all crying by the end of it though. 

This week I've had an overwhelming sense of realizing the reality of the atonement. My study this morning was amazing. The fall was a separation that was necessary. We tend to show who we are when we are separated from others ( or when we are alone)  Heavenly Father wants us to prove our faith by reconnecting with everyday. Individual faith unto salvation cannot be shown if our probational integrity isn't tested. The world tears everything apart, and separates things. The atonement brings everything back AT-ONE.

I love this gospel. It makes sense :)

Dear family and friends,

This week was the first time on my mission that I was sick. BUT, I'm better now :) I think I had strep or something like that. But anyways, let me share with you the highlights of the week:

On Wednesday we had exchanges with the North Beach Elders. I was with Elder Parry from Utah, and Elder Matautia was with Elder Collings from the UK. We did some service at M's house. We cleaned her windows, and did some weeding. We also organized her garage, we did all of it for her house inspection. Then that's when I started feeling sick, so we left and I took a nap during lunch, and I felt like crap! But then we got up and visited a few less actives and recent converts.

On Friday Elder Matautia and I were able to do baptisms at the temple with M and K! It was suuuuuuuuuuper cool. It was kind of a bummer for M for her first time only because when she showed her recommend apparently Bishop forgot to put a date on it, and so she had to wait ages!! But it ended up being amazing! The L's K's, and Sister A came, and Brother K and Brother S and D. It was just the best night! M said after that she felt like she was in a place where the angels walked. It was cool to see how strongly she felt the spirit there :) The spirit was strong.

On Thursday we had Stake Correlation with President Fife, and President Brodie. They are the best leaders. They just yearn to please Heavenly Father. After that meeting we went to teach N at M's house. (N is K's best friend) We had a good lesson on the Godhead. We invited her to be baptized, and she said that she would once she got an answer. She told us though that she is the type to completely commit to something once she knows for herself that it's the right thing for her! So she's looking pretty promising!  Then we had a quick kfc/ nandos dinner, it was awesome!

 

Elder Matautia and I have been suuuuuper motivated to find lately! I'm not sure where the motivation has come from, but it is awesome! I've never been happier on my mission that I am right now, and that's saying something!! We have been doing a lot of tracting, and though we haven't had too much come out of it yet, we are still pumped.

What I've learned this week, is that the more steps we take out of our comfort zone, the more the Holy Ghost will comfort us. I experienced this yesterday when we were tracting after church. We walked up to this house with heaps of cars in the front yard, and then someone walked out and we just took control of the situation and talked to him. We were able to ask some good questions and testify with each other. We knew that they were able to feel the spirit.

I love being a missionary. I loooooooove the work I love the people here and my companion, and I love Heavenly Father and all the experiences he has given me so far. I know that there are some big ones around the corner. I'm excited everyday to see what blessings are waiting for us, and to see what blessings we will be able to provide for others :)

Dear Family and Friends,

This week was a long one, but a good one :)

 

In our ward we started the 40 day fast! It has been pretty cool to see the things that have already come from it. So how it works is: there is a family that fasts for a day, and then breaks it, and then another family in the ward takes over the fast, and so the fast is never broken in the ward! It's pretty neat!

So on Monday, we went to N's house and had an AWESOME lesson with her. She told us that she prayed and she felt really good about it. She said a few prayers in fact, and she said one with her atheist partner! Then we were having a good lesson lead by a lot of good questions, and we got to the point in the lesson where we were talking about the importance of Christ. She said that she didn't really know why Christ was important. So we explained why, and then we asked her if she felt like she has been weighed down by things she has done in the past. She expressed how much she wanted to get rid of those things, then we asked her if we were to teach her how to get rid of those things, if she would listen to us. She said yes. 

 

So then we started talking about Baptism, and how Christ plays a role in baptism. So we invited her to be baptized, and she paused, and said, "If I were to make more mistakes after I was baptized, what would I do?" So we explained to her what she would do, and then we invited her again, and she said.... YES! It was awesome! the spirit was so strong, so we kind of knew she was going to say yes! Then we followed up with her yesterday ( her partner D he has had gastro for the past week) and she was down with Gastro :( haha but we will see her this week. She's soooooooo keen!

The Geraldton Elders came down from.. Geraldton for exchanges on Wednesday. We got to exchange with both of them! They are awesome! We had them down for mission conference as well! Elder Pearson came, and spoke right to my needs! it seriously helped me sooooooo much! not that I"ve been stuggling or anything, but it helped me focus a little more :) Then that night we went to M and K's house, and had a lesson with them and K's friend N. She's Indonesian as well, and she's pretty keen to learn! So we are teaching her now too!! I feel like that was another direct result of the fast as well. We also had to fast on that day because one of the members forgot to fast, so we did it to make up for it, and then out of nowhere this other recent convert, D gave us her friend to teach! So we will be going by this week! It's cool to see the miracles that fasting brings.

I love Merriwa! I think this'll be the area I will be most fond of after my mission, because everything is just the best!! I love my companion, the members, the recent converts, the investigators, my flat, and everything! It's the best being a missionary :)

Dear friends and family,

 

 This weekend was awesome!! We had some really cool little miracles happen.

So on Thursday and Friday we had our last 2 lessons with M and K. We taught them about Lehi's dream and then on Friday, we had an AWESOME lesson on enduring to the end at the C's with Bishop there. 

The fellowship from the ward is sooooooo good! Then on Saturday, we had the baptism itself. the Chapel was packed with people! it was full. they had heaps of support from members, and a lot of investigators came as well. the baptismal service was basically perfect! It was cool because we invited quite a few less actives to come along and see.

After the baptism, Sister F came up and told us that they have had 3 separate people they have invited for us to come over and teach! It's so cool because the members here have been able to see that missionary work isn't too hard because the K just invited their next door neighbors over for a dinner, and now they are baptized!

Yesterday was the area broadcast conference. It was awesome! it was basically like a mini  general conference for the pacific area. Elder Pearson, Callister, and Elder Cook spoke as well. It as a lot about putting our trust in  Heavenly Father, and our faith, but trust in him is a higher form of faith. 

 

After the conference M and K were confirmed! Then Bishop took them both aside, and had an interview with them each, and they both have a temple recommend now!! :) so we will be going to do baptisms this weekend :) 

 

Right after that we went Straight to the F's to have a lunch with one of the guys that they invited over. His name was N.  He was talking about moving to Bulgaria for like more than half the time. But then we finally got to talking about the gospel. He was kind of in awe of everything we were saying. We were teaching him about the Book of Mormon, and he said he really wanted to get a copy, so we gave him one! The spirit was definitely there :)

Later yesterday, we went to a potential who we met  a few days ago. We met them by helping their neighbours do service. Their names are N and D. N is from Scotland, and D is suuuuuper Aussie. We talked for a bit, and then N invited us to take a seat, and then we felt prompted to talk about prayer with them. D is an atheist, but N believes, they both committed to pray last night though! We are going to go follow up and have another lesson with them today! It was awesome being able to teach them. Both of them are so innocent, and are willing to listen :) I just pray that they keep their commitments!

I absolutely loooooove this ward! The Merriwa ward is the best ward in the mission, no doubt! I looooove the work and I wish I could stay in this area for the rest of my mission!
