Sorry Mom
Sorry mom!! haha liza said you were pretty mad that I didn't respond to your last email! But I will from now on be a little more personal. I kind of got rebuked in General conference for not writing very meaningful letters, so I will try my best. My letter today won't be all the sudden amazing, but I will work towards it :)
That's really cool though that the stake had that fast on being a pornography free stake.
I really do feel that it is the biggest spiritual disease ever! It's soooooooooooo so so nice to be a missionary though, and not have to worry about it. The truth of it though, isn't the fact that because I'm a missionary that I am protected, it is the fact that the spiritual habits I have are getting stronger and stronger. Anyone can have the clean life if they do the things you just said.
I looooooooooooooooooooooooved conference. my favorites were Elder Cook and Elder Oaks of course ;) annnnnnnnnd Elder Cornish! Loved it!!
Love you mom! I'll do my best to write you every week now, because you are important to me and I love you :)
What a week and a half-ish! Lots has happened! Miracles all over the place. So yes, we went to wave rock on Monday. It's suuuuuuuuper far away. We didn't realize how far it was. Literally it was a four hour drive. But it was worth it though. I got to catch up with my MTC companion, Elder Wheeler. He is serving down in Narrogin so he doesn't get to see other missionaries much, so it was cool! We taught A that night, and we also felt inspired to go to the Conklins to invite them to host a cottage evening. They accepted! Nice.
On Tuesday I felt prompted to call a less active who I used to visit when I served here last year. So we called him up, and he told us that he moved to Baldivis, but he told us that we should go visit this former that I taught when I served here before, so he described to us where he lived. He told us to visit him, so after we hung up, we went there and he was home, we talked to him and he told us that lately he has just felt that he should give up drinking and smoking! He told us that he gave up drinking six months ago, and that he wants to quite smoking, and then when we told him about the Quit Smoking program, he was pretty keen to get going on that! He said the he would like to be baptized too! What a miracle!
I went on exchanges with Elder Given this week. We had lots of fun. We made a subconscious goal to talk with absolutely everyone! There were some good experiences from it too! We found this girl tracting who is from the new apostolic church. She was pretty keen to come to conference! We biked to Gosnells down to the bottom of Harrisdale, which is pretty far! It was good though.
On Thursday, we had a real good lesson with A. My comp was just super bold in telling him that the only way to receive an answer to his prayer, he is just going to have to commit, and the answer will come. It takes faith!
On Friday, we had MLC. It was nice to catch up with Elder Miller and Sto Tomas and Elder Matautia. There have been heaps of amazing things happening throughout the mission ever since Pres. Fife has been emphasizing the use of the Book of Mormon. We've given wayyyy more BOM's than we usually do since he has.
I thoroughly enjoyed conference this time around. A common theme to me throughout the conference was repentance, which is something I feel I have a night and day understanding of in comparison to before my mission. I remember before my mission, I really wanted to know what repentance truly was and how to do it. As I have come to know what it is, and more importantly felt it, I have been trying my best to share it with everyone I meet. I really have been able to feel the Atoning power of Christ in my life. as I've been removing weeds of my life with wholesome good fruits. There is honestly, no greater feeling to me, than the feeling of forgiveness from the Lord. It's funny because whenever we teach people about repentance,( we try to teach at least some part about it to everyone we talk to) and there are so many people who have never even heard the word! I am soooooooooo so so grateful to know what repentance is, how it is made possible, and how to do it. It is to me what brings the greatest amount of hope in life.
I love you family and friends. I hope each of you experience the joy of repentance through applying the atonement. It is the greatest feeling, and the ONLY way to be able to feel completely pure.
Love to all! CTR!

Canning Vale
Dear family and friends,
This week and a half has gone by incredibly quick! Elder Tua'itanu and I are both still trying to recover from the flu, but we've been working hard nonetheless! Apparently it is the coldest September on record here in perth. a chilly average of 15 degrees ;) hahaha. (I don't even know if that's the average, I'm just guessing)
A is doing soooooooooooo well! We've been teaching him from "The beginning" and it has been really good for him and even more for us, because we have to learn how to simplify things! haha we found out that his full first name is ********, so I'm going to call him that now, (tsh so much cooler ;)
We went to Canning Vale quite a bit this past week (my first area! they actually closed down the canning vale area, so we cover all of what I covered when I served in canning vale, and muuuuuuuuuch more :) ) We met this phillipino lady who wanted us to give her a book, so we gave her a book of Mormon in English and in tagolog, because I know from serving there that there are heaps of phillipinos there hahah!
We also went to Canning vale on 2 of the exchanges we went on this past week. On one of the exchanges, I was with Elder Daniels from Orlando, we were trying our best to follow the Spirit the whole day, and so we made a deal at the beginning of the exchange that we would act on every prompting, NO MATTER WHAT! and we prayed that we would be able to find those who have been following promptings without even knowing it. haha it was good though. our day ended up being soooo much different that we planned for. We ended up seeing this excommunicated dude, and it was actually really good, he was telling us about all of these experiences he had on his mission, and then at the end we asked him if there was anything we could do for him, and he told us that we could clean up the dog poo in the back yard, so we did!! haha I think he was testing our sincerity to serve. Later that day, we tried to see this chinese investigator that I've never met. We got there, but the lady in the carport told us that he wasn't home, but then Elder Daniels had the impression that we should go talk to the kid we passed while biking there who was playing basketball in the park. I tried to justify it because he looked like a young kid from far away, but we went, and started talking to this kid. he was 16 and had a huge tattoo on his leg, he is from NZ. He told us that earlier that day that he was just sitting on his bed, and that he felt like he should go play basketball, and he just said that he felt like he needed to come to the court he was at, instead of the other nicer courts that were closer to his house, so we told him the reason he felt like he needed to be at the court he was at, was because we had something to give him, so we gave him a book of Mormon, and promised him HEAPS of blessings if he read it! We talked with him for ages, and he had heaps of questions. Pretty much taught the whole plan of salvation, and he was getting so happy and excited. he even said the closing prayer when we left! it was awesome! we are going back to see him this weekend :)
We also went to canning vale on another exchange with Elder Otero. We biked ALL DAY in the rain! haha it was fun though, because he shouted NANDOS!!!!!! I will bike in the rain all day for nandos. ;) anywho, we tried to see this former that was suuuuuper duper keen back when I served there, and we got there, but this indian dude in a wheel chair answered the door. ( haha definitely not the guy I knew) but he told us that he was in the middle of playing piano when we knocked, then I told him I play piano, and then we asked if he could play for us, so he let us in, and then told me to play, and so I did, and after I played he said that I'm too good, and so he didn't end up playing for us! haha. but then his friend came in and then made us some tea, which we had to awkwardly reject, and then he made us coffee, and we had to reject that as well!! hahahahahhaa. then he just came out with milk ( third time is the charm) all the while, we were talking with S( the wheelchaired indian) He pretty much believes in absolutely everything we do, EXCEPT his idea of who God is, is pretty warped. ) he was pretty pumped when we pulled out the book of Mormon, he said he would read the whole thing! hah! and then at the end he said that he will drop everything and follow this "path" if he comes to know if it is true. Miracle!! it was awesome.
but yeah, this week was awesome, Elder Tua'itanu and I still haven't had a normal morning yet, where we just go out and tract, but it will come one day! hahah ;)
Love yous
