R and R
Family
and friends,
This week was all over the place, there were some
miracles, then some un-miracles, and then miracles again.. haha let me
explain!
So
on Monday we contacted a referral that we got from the office. We
knocked on the door, and this 71 year old aussie lady named R
answered the door, she invited us in immediately! She sat us down and
started talking to us about why she wanted us to come. She told us that
last week she had a man come clean her carpets, and then he said that he
was a Mormon, and she said she thought that Mormons were members of a
cult, haha and then she said that she has been looking for a church to
go to because she has been to quite a few different churches, and she
didn't feel like she belonged, and then she said that she really wants
to come to our church, because she found out that we are actually
Christians, and then she asked us about our church, because she
literally lives like 10 houses down from the church! So we taught the
entire Restoration! At the end of it, she was like ," Wow! That's
amazing, I don't even have to read the BOM or that Pamphlet, I already
believe everything you told me!" So we invited her to be baptized, and
she said yes! She is scheduled for the 16th of July! haha Her daughter
also really wants to be baptized. So that was quite the miracle. In her
closing prayer, she even said, "Thank you for showing me which church I
should join." It was awesome!!!!
On
Wednesday, we went on exchanges with the Assistants. I was with Elder
Lotter, we had a pretty random day, but it was really good. We went to
the city for a few hours, and contacted right next to the train station.
haha Met quite a few crazy people, but it was fun. There were also some
very genuine people.
On
Thursday we went to follow up with R. She came right out as soon as
we knocked on the door, and she said, "Oh I actually can't come to the
church," she showed us a picture in the back of her Restoration
pamphlet, and it was a picture of a sacrament meeting, She said that she
couldn't come because they were all dressed up and she felt
uncomfortable dressing up. So we tried to resolve that concern, but then
she just brought up all these other concerns, like the Word of Wisdom, and then
she got onto some Anti- stuff. She told us that her husband showed her
some Anti stuff, and that she was no longer interested. :( We tried with
everything we could to keep her, but nothing worked. She even said a
prayer with us on the porch, and as she was saying the prayer, I had the
thought to invite her to a family home evening. So after she said the
prayer, I told her that there were a few people in the ward who REALLY
want to meet her, and that there is a family night at a family's house
in the ward on Monday.. she said that she would like to come!! We told
her that we would come Sunday morning to introduce her, her ride to the
family home evening. Whew! She was hanging by a thread!
Later
that night, we had an AMAZING lesson with N and her girls. Sister C picked her up. She is such perfect fellowshiper because she also
used to be a JW. She was telling about her conversion story the entire
time, and it is soooooo similar to the situation N is in right now.
Sister C also used to work in the women's refuge and is a police
officer, and N has gotten her house through the women's refuge. Perfect! Had an awesome lesson, but S C had to leave, so we
didn't have a full lesson, which means we didn't get to invite them to
be baptized! Next lesson for sure!!
Then on
Sunday morning, we went with Sister F to see R. (Sister
F has the same first name.(Perfect ;) )) It worked out sooooooo
well!! We also met R's daughter, they let us in and we had a lesson.
They are all good! R just said we were moving a bit too quick, but
yeah she will be coming tonight.
I''ve
learned soo much from Elder Tutton. it's so sad killing him off, but
I'm excited for what's ahead! My new companion is Elder Sto Tomas! (
Santo tomas) he came out the same day I did, and he is from the Phillipines! I'm so excited to serve with him! It will be awesome. I'm
still here in Merriwa! I've been here 6 months, and I wouldn't mind
being here 6 more :)
Love you family and friends

Quick Week
Family, Friends,
This weekend was so quick! I'll briefly tell you what happened!
On
Thursday we saw the S's right after MCM. I think I already said
this, but they are sooooooooooooo bogan haha they make me laugh.
On
Friday, we went to see N one of our new investigators who is an
ex'd -JW.
We did some weeding at her house with D, and H T.
She was quite grateful. There is some really good potential with her!
We were going to invite her to be baptized at the end of the service,
but then her friend showed up and we didn't really get to see her for
the last part of our service, plus we had a meeting with one of the high
counselors pretty soon after that. Then we had dinner at Brother S's. He's progressing so well. It's cool because he told us that in
his patriarchal blessing that it says that he will leave the church for a
while, then he will come back stronger, and we are part of that!
On
Saturday we had a ward activity for our ward conference yesterday. It
was sooooooooo good! like usually ward activities are like decent at
best, but Sister C put it together and it was awesome!! F and
I( our Banglidesh investigators) and their two kids came! It
was like a carnival themed thing. We had our own booth, it was cool.
They loved it! They had a lip sync battle between the different
auxiliaries in the ward as well. it was so funny! After the activity, we
went to teach Kat the Gs. She's been struggling a bit lately,
but we ended up having an awesome spirit led lesson on Personal
Revelation. Everyone learned something new out of it! it was awesome.
On Sunday we went in the morning to see our Peruvian investigator,
E. He was out cleaning his Guinea Pig cages on the porch, and we
ended up talking to him for like an hour and a half there. He read 2
Nephi 31-33 which is awesome! But yeah, he's really investigating. He is
the humblest guy, and I reckon as soon as he gets a testimony of the
Book of Mormon, that he and his family will all be baptized! Then we had
church, and for some reason church was only 2 hours, since it was ward
conference, but then we stayed after to help out with B G's
son's baptism. I played piano for it. Then later that night we had
dinner at Bro S's again. Then we went to see the T's, I'm really
glad we went though, because Brother T's grandmother passed away
this week. We had a good lesson on the Atonement of Christ and the
Resurrection. He showed us this clip that a tv show did on his Grandma.
Apparently she was really famous. It was awesome because in the clip,
she was talking about being sealed to her family and everything. It was
awesome.
I love the work, our area is about to explode, I can't wait for it to happen!

Shark Attacks, Rain Storms, Egyptian Orthodox, My Spanish Stinks!
Dear family and friends,
WHAT A WEEK!!! Far out this week was awesome!! I'm not sure where to even start!
WHAT A WEEK!!! Far out this week was awesome!! I'm not sure where to even start!
We
went on exchanges with the Geraldton Elders for a few days, that was a
treat, because Elder Impas is the phillipino Version of my brother Jack!
hahah he had the funniest sense of humor, but was really quiet about
it. It was awesome.
On
Friday we were tracting and we met this Egyptian Orthodox Christian
lady named I. She looks south American but she's Egyptian. Anywho, we
got a return appointment in the next morning, and so we came back with
an Arabic Book of Mormon, and she fed us sweet potato! haha She's the
coolest! We also caught up with our Banglidesh investigators on
Saturday, they are really excited to come to church this next Sunday!
super excited for that!
On
Sunday apparently there was a shark attack IN OUR AREA!!!!!!!! It was
off of Mindarie beach, apparently this 60 year old lady was diving with
her diving friend, and a great white ate her! so sad! :( the great white
was 5.3 meters long, that's like 18 feet long!!!!!!!! My goodness
gracious.
On
Monday we tracted for 4 hours and found 1 potential haha! It was this
Japanese rugby player, but he said he was super keen to learn more and
come to church. Nice! We had a dinner at the C's with Brother
G. Sister C is the best, she always makes super American
food to make me feel at home ;) She made Jumbalaya with corn bread and it
was awesome!!
Now
Tuesday and Wednesday, the past two days have been pretty miracle
packed, and awesome! So we exchanged with the Balcatta Elders, it was
raining sooooooo hard the entire day. But yeah I was with Elder
Collings, and we went to I's house, we couldn't go in because her
husband wasn't home, so she brought out some chairs for us to sit on
while the rain was coming down, she gave us some biscuits, and then she
went inside, for a while and we both thought that she was making us some
tea or coffee or something, so we were discussing how we could reject
it in the nicest way possible! haha but it turns out she was just
chilling inside, she just gave us those chairs and biscuits to have so
we could wait out the storm! haha So we literally waited for like 25
minutes.
Then we tried a potential Elder Matautia and I found 2 transfers ago named S, she is a Chilean lady with a massive house, she let us in her little patio thing, and we had a really good talk with her, she really wanted us to come back, I spoke a little bit of Spanish to her, but I'm so bad haha but yeah it was still awesome. Then we had to drop the other elders off at a teaching appointment. Elder Tutton and Elder Parry taught someone Elder Tutton tracted into last week, who is suuuuuuuper duper keen. She said that she has been waiting for Mormon missionaries to knock on her door, and she has 4 kids, is MARRIED ( that's the real miracle) and she and her husband want to join the church!!! how amazing!! There are a few other minor things that happened on that day but that was the cool stuff from Tuesday.
Then
yesterday, oh man, it was awesome!!!!!! We were texting just about
every single person in the ward to ask if they could come and teach with
us this lady that Elder Tutton and Elder Parry found on exchanges the
day before. Last minute brother A said he could come. So we went
there, and we met this lady, her name is N, she is a former JW, but
is really in need of a change in her life because she has been in an
abusive relationship for a long time, so yeah, we taught her, and she is
soooooo excited to get to know a new community, because from her point
of view, she really wants to come back to church because she knows it's
right and that it'll help her, but she doesn't want to go to the kingdom
hall! But yeah she has been pretty dang prepared.
Later
that day, we visited a pretty ambiguous referral that we got from Sister G the day before. She told us to go visit this south
American family, so we knocked on the door and this Peruvian man named E answered the door, he let is in straight away ( my goodness if I
served in south America, I would love it ;0 ) We started talking and he
was really nice, but then all the sudden, he got a call from his wife,
and he had to go pick her up, so he told us to come back in 20 minutes.
So we tracted for a bit and met a solid potential from Malaysia, then we
came back and he let us in again, I was intrigued by their piano, and
then I told them that I play, so I played for them, and they loved
it! Elder Tutton and I also spoke a little bit of Spanish to him, but we
stunk haha! Then E's daughter played for us a song she made up it
was really good actually, then E just started asking us questions,
he asked us about the Book of Mormon, and then we ended up teaching
pretty much the entire Restoration. He was in awe because he has been a
catholic his whole life, but he hasn't really believed it, and
everything we taught him lined up with what he has believed his whole
life, like he believes that the godhead is three separate beings, and he
also believes that god speaks to all of his children, needless to say,
we have a return appointment with him and he is ALSO married and has 4
kids baptismal age!
We've been finding some
solid families this week!! What a blessing it is to serve up here. I
honestly never want to leave this area, I want to finish my mission in
Merriwa!!

Dear family and friends, this last week was super duper good! Soooo many good things are happening here in Merriwa. There have been some cool miracles this week.
On Tuesday, we went to Brother S's house for dinner, he made a really good sausage curry, but then on Wednesday I was feeling sick all day.. I thought I had food poisoning, but then I took a nap during lunch, and I woke up with a fever, but then I worked through it, and it just went away as we kept working! So that was pretty cool! But anywho, we were tracting on Wednesday morning right before I was feeling really sick, and we met this south African lady named M, she opened up really quick. She told us her husband passed away 2 and a half months ago. She started to cry, but then Elder Tutton shared the PERFECTEST scripture in Mosiah 16, and then we talked about the resurrection, and it was such an awesome spirit. She told us to come back to teach her more!
We also went by to see T, and His girlfriend was there as well, so we had a good lesson with them, and then T recommitted ( for the 3rd time) to take us to Nandos! But yeah, his girlfriend is pretty keen to learn more too, but it's funny because whenever we invite him to do something, he always hesitates, but then I ask his girlfriend L if she thinks its attractive for him to do it, and she always says yes! Then he does it, so it works haha!
Elder Tutton also got his knee brace off this week, so we were able to walk around quite a bit, so we were walking all day on Tuesday, and we tracted into a Scottish dude named S who is a self-proclaimed football hooligan. He causes heaps of trouble in the games, and lights flares and stuff. Interesting guy, but he was pretty interested, so we picked up him and his partner as investigators!
On Wednesday we taught N again, and we had a really good lesson on the Book of Mormon, all of the P's bore their testimonies of the Book of Mormon, the spirit was so strong. I really hope N will make up her mind soon though hahaha!
On Saturday we were on exchanges with the Joondalup Elders. I was with Elder Esterninos, and we decided to tract a pretty rich street in the morning. We knocked on this one door, and this South African lady looked like she was in a hurry, so I introduced ourselves and told her what we were doing, and she started talking to us, ( she actually wasn't in a hurry) Turns out she is on holiday right now from south Africa, and she is just here to paint her sister's house, then Elder Esterninos in his limited English asked her, "Do you like to read?" She said she did, so Elder Esterninos pulled out the book of Mormon, and started to explain what it was using the pictures in the front cover, it was awesome!! His English was really good, he read to her the last paragraph in the intro, and it said something about Joseph Smith, so she asked us who he was, so we explained, and then she asked what the biggest difference was between us and her ( she was catholic) and we explained, and anywho, long story short, she is pretty keen! we have a return appointment on Thursday, but yeah she committed herself to read Alma 7! It was so cool to see the gift of tongues working for Elder Esterninos. He is the man!
Yesterday was an awesome sunday! Good 5th sunday lesson on the signs of the coming of Christ, this ward is just the beeest! Then later last night we had a musical fireside. The spirit there was so nice! amazing people and food and music!
I love this area and ward and stuff it's soooooo good
I love you all
Love elder Beeson
